What Do Women Want

If you though that it was only what men want that is difficult to understand then you will be surprised to know that it is even harder to know what women want. Man has always wanted to peep into a women’s mind to understand the inner working of a woman’s mind but has failed miserably. The main reason why men struggle to get along with women is that it is difficult to read their mind. A woman may say one thing but may actually mean something else. Call that hypocrisy or whatever but the fact is that the though process of women is drastically different from men. It is generally believed that women use emotions reach a decision and at the same time are more intuitive. This is far from truth. Men can be as emotional and intuitive as women. The basic difference still lies in processing information and ways used by women to bond together. Women are more prone to thoughts and feelings as means of bonding while men prefer to share through activities. While women will want to tell each and every detail but men tend to get on with it and look for solutions rather than harbor on nuances. It is no body’s fault; man and woman evolved according to the environment in which our ancestors lived and that is why women think differently. What they want is entirely a different story altogether.

In ancient times, success for man was his ability to survive as a hunter. A successful provider for the group had no need for meeting women; they were there for him to choose. He got the best of food, comfort and the first preference to have sex with whosoever and as much as he wanted. What women want in a man also has its roots in the evolutionary process.

While men were away hunting women had enough time to talk during their activities as they worked in groups for safety. Taking care of children, picking berries, roots, nuts and seeds gave them adequate skills in activities and also in understanding people. They talked all the time and learned to cooperate rather than compete. While could understand men better, men were left wondering what do women want from them.

Coming back to the original question, what women really want in men is still the same as in ancient times. Despite all talk about women’s liberation, they still want their man to be powerful. They still want him to be successful (a good hunter?) and a good provider. Besides these basics all else such as sense of humor, looks and a bit of mischief are demands of modernity.

Modern women want men to be patient listeners. They want men to listen to their complaining and crazy details the way ancient woman had other women listening to her. Women also want men to consider them the sexiest of all, which is like wanting what was denied to her back then. Basically, what women want is better understood by learning about the environment in which man and woman evolved.
